Plan Review

Plan pickup and drop off are available on:

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on a first-come-first-serve basis.

For structural plans (homes, ADU’s, barns, garages, commercial buildings, etc.) the County of San Diego Planning and Development Services must FIRST review and date stamp the plans before we can review them.

Effective February 22nd 2024 we will have an updated cost recovery for plan check submittals. Any plans submitted before February 22nd will have the former fees honored.

Please do not submit unstamped plans.

Before submitting plans for review, we highly encourage you to read through our Residential Plan Review Check Sheet to ensure plans meet the requirements of the District.

Please note that most of our district is in a high wildfire severity zone which requires building construction in accordance with the California Building Code Chapter 7A [PDS664]. Please contact the County of San Diego Building Department for any questions regarding these requirements.

For other plan review questions, please contact the Fire Prevention Bureau at (760) 723-2010.
